100 Garnacha. This wine is spectacular, and represents the perfect foil for grilled steak. Rich, full bodied and muscular, Alto Moncayo has riveting intensity and palate staining extract; this Spanish red is inkypurple, full-bodied, and rich. This pedal-to-the-metal offering should age handsomely for a decade. 600 cases produced. Not yet reviewed; 2008 vintage rated 93 points by Rhone Report ...the 2008 Bodegas Alto Moncayo Campo de Borja, 100 Garnacha, sports decadent, downright sexy aromatics of smoky black fruits and coffee like notes that are complemented by lead pencil, Asian spices, and solid minerality on the nose. This leads to a full bodied, extremely polished wine that possesses loads of sweet fruit, good concentration, and a silky, long finish that highlights sweet fruit, and edgy minerality. While not for the faint of heart, this beautifully done wine should drink well for a decade or longer.
